Wake Forest University hosts over 100 campus events and panels aimed at promoting dialogue and collaboration, providing you with opportunities to participate in initiatives that advocate for kindness and respect. Deacon Dialogue Series
The Deacon Dialogue Series is designed to foster a campus environment where students can engage in open discussions on a wide range of topics. Managed by the Office of Civic and Community Engagement, the program features student facilitators who guide these important conversations.
Topics explored in Deacon Dialogue events have included:
- Belonging: Discussing ways to find a sense of community at Wake Forest.
- Colorism: Examining the impact of colorism on individuals.
- Political Polarization: Engaging in dialogue about political divides.
- Interpersonal Violence: Addressing the issue of interpersonal violence.
The goals of Deacon Dialogue are to promote open communication and mutual understanding, develop effective communication skills, stimulate critical thinking, strengthen the campus community, and inspire students to become active citizens.
Religious and Interfaith Dialogue
Wake Forest University promotes interfaith dialogue through a diverse array of events and discussions supported by various religious observances. This initiative creates opportunities for students and the community to explore religious pluralism and global faith traditions. Upcoming panel discussions and presentations will cover important topics such as:
