Old school X new school Homecoming Queens 👑
54 years after being crowned Wake Forest’s 1971 Homecoming Queen—the first black woman to do so, Beth Norbey Hopkins (‘73) returned to the very field of that special moment and witnessed the path she paved—Chase Clark (‘26) becoming the 2025 Wake Forest Homecoming Queen.
It is rare for current students to be a part of the storied weight of alumni like Beth. But this Homecoming Weekend, students got a front row seat in crowds across generations, to see her alma mater honor the names of her and her late college sweetheart. Their story is forever etched into the bricks of Wake Forest and will mark the stories of countless Wake Foresters to come.
Congratulations to our 2025 Homecoming King and Queen, Carter Kowalski (‘26) and Chase Clark (‘26)! 👑
