Brightening up your timeline with some @forsythhumane pup goodness! Our kind of campus visitors! 🐶🎩

This morning, we took Wake Up Wednesday to the law school for a midweek pick-me-up with Dean Klein, President of the Student Bar Association, Celie Anderson and all of our law school friends preparing for their big oral arguments this week! Good luck, #LegalDeacs!

Wake ‘N Shake 2025 | It’s WNS day! Today is sweet, and it’s about to get even sweeter! 🍩
A homegrown favorite, Krispy Kreme original glazed doughnuts can be purchased with 50% of the proceeds going back to Wake ‘N Shake!
The neighborhood staple that grew its roots in Winston-Salem in the summer of 1937 has become a fundraiser giant for student-led initiatives on campus. Our students’ connection with our city’s local businesses and sponsors is part of what makes our student experience so special—WNS has partnered with more than 15 businesses for the cause!
So grab a dozen doughnuts in @wfuwakenshake’s bio, redeem them in-store whenever you’d like, put on your dancing shoes, and let’s fuel the fight!

Fun fact: Winston’s flagship store offers guided tours for WFU student groups to see their signature doughnut-making process! 🎩 🍩 🎩 🍩

Wake ‘N Shake 2025 | “Wake ‘N Shake is just special. I hope you all will remember these moments forever. I sure have.”-Mike Ford (‘72)
This week’s final @wfuwakenshake exec meeting featured a special guest. Students got a visit from Mike Ford, a proud alum turned Medallion of Merit recipient (the university’s highest honor) who dedicated a 36-year career stint to his alma mater, where he focused on the student experience. His work with the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund helped fuel one of our biggest traditions.
Students got a chance to hear how it all started, learn about some of Mr. Ford’s favorite moments and keepsakes—including the iconic t-shirts from the original cancer drive over 20 years ago— and why he believes as strongly as ever in the work and mission of the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund.

Wake ‘N Shake 2025 | Ways to fuel the fight against cancer and raise over 20K in a day?
✅ Dunk a @wfuwakenshake exec member!
✅ Host a Manchester pop-up shop!
✅ Shop sweet treats outside the pit!
✅ Rally friends, family and the campus community to contribute to the cause!
One of the organization’s biggest fundraising days, WNS raised over $20,000 in just 24 hours. Safe to say the day was a success! Let’s keep it going, Deacs!

Wake `N Shake 2025 | This year, @wfuwakenshake celebrates 20 years of dancing for a cure. What many may not know is that the 12-hour dance marathon is planned nearly a year in advance. Meet the 2025 co-directors of the largest student-run philanthropy tradition at Wake Forest, who make it happen.
Eleanor Carroll (`25), Mike Owens (`26) and Kate Bucci (`25) all started with Wake `N Shake as first-year students—Eleanor on the decorations committee, Mike on the exec team, and Kate as a dancing participant on the floor. Years later, they lead the largest student committee on campus, a 53-person exec team and over 100+ subcommittee members dedicated to making the big day happen! Each of them has a personal connection to the cause, having witnessed the impact of cancer in their families. This Saturday, they`ll dance in honor of Eleanor`s grandmothers, Kate`s aunt, and every generation of Mike`s family.
Join Eleanor, Mike, Kate, and the over 1400 participants (and counting), already signed up for this Saturday`s 20th annual Wake `N Shake! 💃🕺

Spring break may be here, but the 6th man never leaves.
With you all the way, @wakembb 🎩

Enjoy the break, Deacs! You deserve it.

First Gold & Black Chat of the semester was a success! Stay tuned for our next pop-up with President Wente and Dr. Shea! 🎩
